Business Associates Can Be Found Everywhere
Any decent salesman will always be on the look out for a deal, no matter where he is, but it is funny how business can come from unexpected sources.
Recently we employed the services of a double glazing repair company based just outside Manchester called Steamy Windows. We found out about them online by performing a quick search. The website looked good and we could send the details of the windows we needed replacing via the online form on their website. We didn’t really feel like getting into a hard sell telephone call on a Saturday morning when all we wanted was a price to replace some misted windows, so the online form was a great way to make first contact.
A little time after we submitted our information we received a telephone call from one of Steamy Windows’ representatives, a very nice, polite lady who gave us our quote without any hard sell at all. The lady asked us to give her a ring back if we were interested in Steamy Windows replacing our double glazing.
We had a think about the prices and got in touch with a few other companies who also provided quotes, but none of them came close to the excellent approach of Steamy Windows. So, we called back and arranged for them to come and do some measuring up and to arrange the refit.
A couple of days later the measuring guy came and measured up. We got talking about our windows and his business and as we work from home and have laptops everywhere, he asked us about ours. We told him about our websites and about some of the web based services we offer and he seemed very interested in using our expertise to revamp his website. We swopped email addresses and we said we would be in touch.
We made contact later that day and within a few more days we had sat down and had a proper meeting. We discussed several ideas and proposals for the current website, along with some major plans they have for the future of the business.
Steamy Windows liked what they saw in us and we like the way Steamy Windows operate so we agreed to work together, but it is funny how business can be gained from almost any situation….
