Looming end to DVD war cheers consumers
TOKYO (Reuters) - An impending end to a format war over next-generation DVDs boosted shares in both victorious Sony, in the Blu-ray corner, and Toshiba, in the losing HD DVD camp, on Monday as consumers cheered an end to confusion over which discs will carry high-definition movies.

Anti-Vandalism Protester Arrested - for Vandalism
In Poland, Janusz Nowak, 61, was going around innocently posting anti-vandalism notices in the Polish town of Sosnowiec. Unforunately, after he posted a notice on a bus stop he was arrested - for vandalism.

Happy Valentine’s Day. Not!
Undercover police officers in Northglenn, Colorado, posed as flowery deliverymen on Valentine’s Day and arrested 23 people with outstanding warrants.
The Northglenn officers used a van with a sign saying “Flowery Delivery” and knocked on doors bearing a long-stem rose box to net their quarry.
